Symptoms.
In case of overdose (including relative overdose due to hepatic dysfunction) may occur CNS depression (stupor, loss of coordination, drowsiness, miosis, muscular hypertonicity, respiratory depression), urinary retention and complex symptoms like intestinal obstruction.
Children may be more sensitive to the effects on the central nervous system.
Treatment.
In case of overdose the patient should immediately seek medical attention. If symptoms of overdose can be used as an antidote naloxone. As Imodiumu® duration longer than naloxone (1-3 hours), you may need reappointment naloxone. To detect possible CNS depression patient should be under close supervision for at least 48 hours.

Security loperamide hydrochloride was evaluated in 2,755 patients aged 12 years who participated in 26 controlled and uncontrolled clinical studies on the use of loperamide hydrochloride for the treatment of acute diarrhea. Side effects that occurred with a frequency of 1% reported in these clinical studies:
Central nervous system: headache.
From the digestive tract: constipation, bloating, nausea.
Side effects that occurred with a frequency of less than 1% in the aforementioned clinical trials:
Central nervous system: dizziness.
